Little Athletics can only function through volunteers. All the regular faces you see at the track – committee members, officials, starters, age managers, canteen manager, IT and equipment specialists – they are all volunteers. Each club levies a parent duty bond of $100 per family in order to encourage parents to fulfil their parent duties – just 4 per family per season. This bond is payable at registration and families are eligible for a full refund after completing all duties for the season. Refunds are paid after the end of the season. You must select 2 duties between the start of the season and 31st December and 2 duties after 1st January.
Parent duties are explained on the Manly Warringah Centre website.
Wednesday Night Training Support:
We are also looking for help from parents to assist coaches at training on a Wednesday night. This year, Wednesday night training support is on a volunteer basis and does not count towards your “Parent Duties”. We would love parents to help out with setting up of equipment for training, supervising the kids as they practice each activity and generally helping out with “crowd control”. At the end of training, we need help with packing away equipment.
Tips when signing up for Parent Duties:
- Remember the email and phone number you use to register so you can access later.
- Try the “Add to Outlook” function to load your parent duty dates to your calendar.
- Print your duties and bring them with you to one of your club’s Collection days.
- Use the same link anytime to see what duties you have signed up for, or to adjust a duty if your circumstances change. Please note that changes to parent duty rosters will no longer be performed in the computer room or via email.
Zone, Regional, State Championships
In the event that a child qualifies for zone, regional or state level competition, then parents must perform rostered duties for the MWLAC at those representative events which is over and above their club duties.
